*Simply in terms of general resilience, oak is the most ideal wood type in Wurm. Items made from oak take 20% less [[damage]] during use and receive a 25% bonus to resilience against bash damage. This is in addition to identically matching the slow decay rate of the popular cedar wood type. It is important to note, however, that for some purposes, such as fishing poles and arrow shafts, a wood other than oak may provide more ideal qualities. See individual item pages for more detail regarding such special circumstances.
