Early History of Stonehaven
Stonehaven was founded by Xzovy The Magnificent in the early summer of 2010. It was only by a great feat of Herculean effort that Xzovy was able to carve one of Freedom's steepest mountains into the noble plateau that now holds Stonehaven. Elegantly situated, between the Inner Sea and the forest, we consider Stonehaven to be one of the Seven Wonders of Freedom. Shortly after Xzovy carved the mountain down to size, actually it was more like a small hill, he was joined by his friend Bensmithbensmith, an eager, if still-wet-behind-the-ears, noob. It was this combination of dogged determination and innocence that drew Xianruflux, at this time an Elder of The Academy, to visit their deed. After a few trips to Stonehaven it was clear to Xianruflux that if these two were to make a reality of their dream they would need his help and thus a partnership was born.
Xzovy, our political conscience, suggested we become an Isocracy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isocracy) and after not more than a few of his long winded lectures Ben and Xian gave in. Once that issue was settled and the village motto confirmed: Free, Equal, Happy; we got down to the hard work of assisting Xzovy to create his dream.
The weeks and months passed in blissful peace as we settled into our new home surrounded by good neighbours and ample resources, until the accident. It was late one night in the early fall when Xzovy and Xianruflux heard the screams. After much searching we finally discovered Bensmithbensmith deep in a mine. He was unable to move and suffering from a nasty crafting accident which left him catatonic. Weeks of rehabilitation followed but to no avail, Bensmithbensmith remained unable to focus and lost concentration easily. We even brought a priest to the deed to minister to his wounds. Although she remains at Stonehaven as our spiritual leader, Qvmmruvi, was unable to return our friend to his preaccident state. Eventually he succumbed to his injuries and we lost him. To this day the deed remains divided on the subject of minecrafting - safe, or not safe...
