Lamps can be made out of any metal (confirmed by Oracle)although apparently not zinc. When attaching the [[log]] to the [[lamp head]], it's the log that determines the success rate, and if you fail you lose the log while the lamp head is turned to a scrap. If you succeed to make a lamp, the whole log is used.
Lamps take 0.125[[kg]] of [[tar]] to fill to max capacity, and painting them takes 0.06kg of [[dye]]. Like a lantern, the higher quality they are the brighter they shine. Brass lamps glow the brightest. Silver lamps cast white light, copper lamps glow orange, and bronze lamps give a deep brown(courtesy of Bianca).
