A steppe tile is a tile where only poor grass grows due to a dry climate and lack of irrigation. A steppe tile can be converted into dirt and back to steppe by planting mixed grass botanized from other steppe tiles.

Steppe tiles are good for hunting, as trees do not block your view and animals spawn there.
