Talk:Rock shards

Selecting and combining one rare shard with one regular shard generates a larger, combined rare shard. Combining a regular with a rare creates a regular. Combining one rare with a group header of a collection of shards also produces a regular.
This is untrue. Combining a rare with an un-rare combineable object only gives a chance to make a larger rare. The way you combine has no effect on whether it stays rare or not. Laiwyn (talk)
- I tried this multiple times and ended up with a shard so big I couldn't carry anything else... so to me it seems like it's true. I'll try again at my earliest convenience. --Marni (talk) 10:34, 29 January 2013 (CST)
- I also tried this before removing it from the page. I activated a rare rock shard that I had laying around in my mine after doing a lot of mining, right clicked a regular rock shard and combined. A regular, larger rock shard was created. It's not true. Here's a post on the forums in the rare item reports thread that supports my point in case you don't believe me: [1]. Furthermore, before adding this link I retested combining a rare with a non rare rock shards using the same method as last time. No larger rare. Laiwyn (talk)
- Didn't have time to test last night - maybe I had a lucky streak! Still have the 160kg lump somewhere, I'll see if I can get a screenshot for you! Not that I don't believe you, just my experiences have been different. I'm planning on testing a few things I have stored up tonight. --Marni (talk) 03:20, 30 January 2013 (CST)
