Skill and improvement

Description

A golden altar, with mystical carvings and inscriptions.

Metal altars can be located within the radius of another altar of another alignment.

Making of an altar

  • When creating a gold altar, where you are standing is where the altar will appear.
  • CANNOT be moved after placing.

Improving it requires the standard jewelsmithing or blacksmithing tools, only exception is you dont have to have the altar glowing, as there is no way you can put it in a fire or forge.

Skill needed to create

10% to make a gold altar at 20.00 jewelsmiting on a 46.22Ql Large Anvil

11% to make a gold altar at 20.85 jewelsmiting on a 46.22Ql Large Anvil

6% to make a gold altar at 13.42 jewelsmiting on a 67.59Ql Large Anvil

19% to make a gold altar at 20.85 jewelsmiting on a 80.87Ql Large Anvil

20% to make a gold altar at 21.35 jewelsmiting on a 80.87Ql Large Anvil (still 11% on a 46.22ql)

Domain size

10 ql - 18 tiles radius

30 ql - 38 tiles radius

50 ql - 57 tiles radius

70 ql - 78 tiles radius

90 ql - 96 tiles radius

Tip for placing

  • To see where an altar will be placed when finished, drop a large anvil. It doesn't always work, but when it does the altar ends up almost exactly where the anvil lands.
  • After dropping the large anvil, do not turn, move or change your mouse view or you will need to re-drop it again to check positioning.

Notes

  • To save lump when improving them, never combine. It uses the entire 0.1kg lump but if you combine several lumps it uses up to 0.25kgs
  • Failure to create the altar will use up 0.5 kg of gold

Usage

Gold altars need to have the bless spell cast on it to set it to a specified deity.

Note that only a priest can cast spells. Stone and wooden altars do not have this requirement.
