The '''Player:''' namespace is for game characters and can be seen in-game when selecting '''Find on Wurmpedia''' when right-clicking a character. The '''User:''' namespace refers to user accounts on the Wurmpedia. Many players will not have a corresponding user, and many users may have multiple players.
Note that '''Player''' namespace articles belong to the associated in-game account; therefore, if the account is transferred, the new owner will have the rights to that article.
