== Description ==Paving is the skill needed to pave lay pavement over dirt to create roads, floors in your house, or simply for faster travelaesthetic pleasure.
Road construction is very important in Wurm, it lets you go places - fast. On a paved road you can reach speeds up to 17.31km/h compared to the 11km/h on grass and less then half of that on sand. That in combination with finding your way around (which many seem to have trouble with in Wurm) makes it pretty obvious that roads are a good thing to have.==Items required==

* Rock Shards for making Gravel==Method==* Packing dirt is the first paving action required to add any type of pavement. Paving is then added to this Stone Brickpacked dirt , except for making floor boards, which may be laid on Cobblestonedirt* Slab for making Stone slabs* Floor boards for making or Wooden planksmarsh. Activate the item you want to pave with, then right-click the tile and choose Pave.
== Method ==Note: You can also right-click a paved tile and select Re-pave > Tile or Nearest corner
Paving is done on Packed dirt. Simply activate the item you want to pave with, right-click the tile Higher paving skill and choose 'Pave'higher quality paving items give a faster completion timer.
===Removing paving===* Paved tiles can may be converted cultivated back to dirt by equipping a Dirtshovel by equipping a shovel and choosing 'Destroy pavement'. Vynora frowns upon such actions for Vynora followers, however. * Body strength of 20 and a Diggingdigging skill of 10 is needed required for destroying pavement. **If you still can not destroy the pavement an injury may be causing the message saying "You need to be stronger to destroy pavement." * Stone slabs can only be removed or terraformed by a player with 21 Body strength. * Destroying pavement gives digging skill, not and the length of time it takes to remove the pavement is also based on this digging. * Removing paving skillfrom tiles inside tunnels requires a crowbar.
== Levelling =Diagonal paving===* Selecting "Pave nearest corner" will pave half of the tile diagonally depending on the paving type being laid and where the player is standing.
To make a road level to walk on (so does not slope to one side), stand on * The entire tile will be considered paved for the higher purpose of things like walking speed, but the two sides and examine the tile border that crosses unpaved corners will take on the road to the lower side. You will need to do some combination graphical appearance of digging the higher side and dropping dirt on the lower side to bring this tiles next to "this slope is level"them.
In normal grassy areas===Subterranean paving===Paving underground(in mines) can be done by first reinforcing the mine floor. To reinforce, it may be possible to simply choose 'activate a flattensupport beam, right-click the floor tile, and choose ' on each Reinforce. After the tile as you walk along is reinforced, apply 1 mortar to the reinforcement by activating the roadmortar, but this often does not work because of rockright-clicking the tile, uneven numbers of dirtand choosing Prepare. Once the tile is prepared, lack of dirt in your inventory or low digging skillyou're able to perform normal above-ground paving methods (all above options are available underground as well). A player with *To remove paving on mine floors use a higher diggingcrowbar skill may also flatten paved tiles of any type provided they're not too close to remove the pavement and then a building / wall or on deeded land where they do not have permission. The dig & dump method however will always work, unless there is a fence preventing dirt from being droppedpickaxe to remove the reinforcement. It may also be possible that *To remove prepared floor use a road has to be placed near a 30+ slope, in that case, it's better to flat-raisechisel to flatten your tile because any dirt dropped will slide downremove the mortar.
When using flatten, one may find it handy to 'stop' the flatten action once the slope hits the desired value, instead of allowing the entire flatten to take place. This can make evening out slopes along a hill much fasterIt should be noted that paving diagonally is not possible underground.
== Slopes =Bridge paving===* Paving the surface of a completed bridge can be done similarly to subterranean paving. ** After the bridge is completed, you must apply mortar to the bridge's surface. ** After the roadway is prepared, you can then apply the paving type of your choosing.
The optimal road slope == House floors ==Paving is 20. Any slope greater than 20 may physically hurt you if you travel down the road at full speedalso used to build house floor plans.The minimum skill requirements are:
A road with a slope of 24+ is self{| class="wikitable"! Skill || Floor|-defeating and fairly useless.| 0 || Wooden plank floor (0 paving required, but 5 carpentry skill required)|-| 21 || Stone brick floor, Stone slab floor, Sandstone slab floor|-| 25 || Pottery brick floor|-| 30 || Slate slab floor|-| 40 || Marble slab floor|}
In addition, a certain level of paving is required to build these kinds of floors at a given level/altitude. The paving skill required in these cases is the same as listed on the table for Multi-story housing.
