There is a way to have a alternate name for a page? I was not aware of that and will look it up.

No, there's no alternate name option apart from redirects. There's a very limited amount of short page titles, and a very large number of villages, so we use full names. If a village abbreviation does become exceedingly common it can be added to abbreviations for general reference. - Dashiva 10:07, 27 September 2008 (CDT)
