Hrm, ok you have me baffled on the copy editing thing. Does that mean the page just needs to be generally reviewed or does it mean that I have gone awry somewhere in the layout or something?

I should note that I have not touched this page for some time since ships, MR, and a resultant vast amount of ingame work at Kallana Verde and catchup at Greendale have left me with very little time for the wiki until recently.

This is a page I would like to make a much better tutorial than the older ones, which seem a bit dated.

Unhappy about some of the content editing done on this page by Ephemeral yesterday. Very happy about changes to the Before You Start section.
The page was clearly marked as Incomplete so I feel that some of the large scale content deletion was inappropriate, especially since the content deleted was content that I had taken some pains to make clear precisely because it was on a subject that new players often ask many questions about.
I additionally disagree with deletion of the references to the older tutorials since they very definitely fill in gaps that I this page did not dealt with.
All said and done, I will attempt to take the best of both Ephemerals edits, some of which were definitely improvements, and the pre-edit content and draw up a revised page.

I am going to remove the link to this page from the tutorials as I feel Ephemeral's edit removes some of the content that justified it being added there.
Retrospectively, I have to acknowledge that I probably broke wiki rules by adding that link while the page was still in an incomplete state anyway.

Quick recap

I feel things are spiraling a bit out of control here. Remember, we're all on the same team. I've moved the copy articles into each of your user spaces, so you can perfect the article to your hearts' content there. Once you have something you feel is solid, come back here and edit it in. If you discover that your intents are too different, there are plenty of other tutorial articles for either of you to adopt. :-)

This page in itself has a use, so I've removed the delete tag. If you feel the page is doing more harm than good in its current state, I suppose you could remove those sections, but the page itself should not be judged just by current content.

The details aside, just keep editing. - Dashiva 11:13, 2 October 2008 (CDT)

Oops, ok maybe my comments came across completely wrong. Yes, not happy about Ephemerals very large deletion changes. No, not upset at Ephemeral per se. Yes, very happy about some of Ephemerals changes, which I feel provided better content than my original attempt.
I wanted to remove the page to allow for appropriate discussion on my attempt to integrate both versions into a single page and felt that the page itself would probably be so disorganised in the meantime that it would be more obstructive than helpful.
Ephemeral, if my earlier comment came across as outright ctiticism then that was definitely not my intention and I would welcome comment on the talk page of QS New as I attempt to put together the best of both our efforts.
