Description

A cog is a medium difficulty ship used for travel and transporting cargo. It requires fewer sails but more wooden materials than the corbita and is harder to create.

One advantage of the cog over the similarly sized corbita is that the second passenger to board is placed in the crow's nest, giving them a high view of the surrounding area.

Cogs are useful merchant ships because they are large, not overly difficult to build, and often less expensive than larger vessels. They are good for long journeys but impractical for short trips, especially in light winds.

Vessel details

  • Requires 22 mind logic to command.
  • Passengers: 1 captain and 8 crew.
  • Maximum speed: 33.22 km/h, solo with a gale from behind.
  • Hold capacity: 29 large crates. See #Loadable items and #Useful quantities for more information.
  • Creature cage capacity: 6.
  • Minimum passable depth: 20 dirt.
  • Size: approximately 5 tiles long and 2 tiles wide.
  • Height: approximately 40 dirt from water level to deck, and approximately 170 dirt from water level to the top.

Notes

  • Ships with a quality of less than 10 cannot be commanded.
    • This includes ships whose damage percentage would calculate to bring the quality below 10, such as a 12 quality ship with 17 damage.
    • Repairing a ship can sometimes result in the ship retaining a quality above 10, making it commandable again.
  • The quality of each keel section affects the creation chance.
  • Ships cannot be hauled up ladders.

Loadable items

List is a work in progress.

Non-loadable items
